I’ve been fortunate in my career to have been part of an extremely diverse and exciting range of projects, but recently I’ve added something really special to my back catalogue. My home city put in a bid to be the UK City of Culture for 2025, and I was honoured to be commissioned to capture some of the imagery.
As part of a team, I collected portraits of local residents and key community figureheads, including a Paralympian, an artist, a city gardener and musicians, paying close attention to ensuring their personalities and achievements came across in the imagery.
The photographs were used across a large-scale campaign that featured billboards, magazines, and newspapers and on a dedicated website.
Although Southampton sadly lost out, it was a unique and fantastic experience to be part of – one I will most certainly treasure.
