In the latter part of 2022, I was commisioned by a leading design and innovation company, AKQA, to capture press shots for an inspiring Ukrainian artist by the name of Mariia Shub.
Mariia’s beautiful designs were launched as AKQA’s Christmas card, along with an animated version directed by Mariia’s brother Rodion Shub – both of whom have recently been displaced to the UK.
The animation has been brought to life by the Ukrainian folk song ‘Little Wings’ and it aims to spread hope and awareness about the impact of the war in Ukraine.
It was a real honour to be even a small part of this project, Mariia was a pleasure to work alongside, and I wish her, her family and AKQA all the very best for 2023.
